My Philosophy

I believe that each client is a unique person with his or her own inner strengths and wisdom. As a Professional Counselor, I believe it is my job to assist people in reconnecting with their strengths and wisdom so that they can make good decisions and choices in their lives. I am always in awe of the courage it takes to break out of patterns that no longer work in one’s life and to establish more positive ones

My approach to counseling is strength-based. When I work with individuals, I use psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies and am a proponent of mind-body-spirit approaches that help clients tune in to the wisdom of their own bodies. When I work with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples discover their ineffective patterns and create new ones so they can feel closer and more intimate.
